A contract soldier, junior sergeant V.Y. Khurshudyan (born in 1989) was fatally wounded as a result of a shootout started after the enemy opened fire in the Verin Shorzha (Upper Shorzha) border area of Gegharkunik province, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense reports.
Armenia’s Ministry of Defense expresses its deep condolences to the family members, relatives and colleagues of the killed soldier.
The situation is under control at the moment, there are no shootings, according to the Ministry of Defense.
