The seven final candidates for the post of president in Iran were announced by the Ministry of Interior some three weeks before the election day, Tasnim reports.
The Constitutional Council has been examining the qualifications of more than 590 hopefuls who registered to run for president for the past several days.
The main applicants disqualified from the presidential race include First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, former Parliament speaker Ali Larijani, and former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Slated for June 18, the 13th presidential election in Iran will be held simultaneously with council and midterm parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections.
