Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has issued a warning to Turkey in an interview with ‘Argumenti I Fakti’.
Lavrov said that encouraging Ukrainian initiatives related to Crimea was tantamount to encroaching on Russia’s territorial integrity.
“At all levels, we strongly urge our Turkish counterparts to carefully analyze the situation and to stop feeding Kiev’s militant sentiments. We have made it very clear that encouraging aggressive Ukrainian initiatives in Crimea is tantamount to encroaching on Russia’s territorial integrity,” Lavrov said.
The Russian Foreign Minister also noted that in this regard, Russia expects that the Turkish line will be “corrected, taking into account Moscow’s legitimate concerns.”
On April 10, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed Ankara’s official position in talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Istanbul, according to which Turkey does not recognize Crimea’s junction to Russia.
