Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received a delegation led by Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami. Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri was also present at the meeting.
Welcoming the guests, the Acting Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the development of relations with friendly Iran, particularly, the expansion of possible cooperation in the field of infrastructure.
Thanking for the reception, the Iranian Minister presented the results of the meetings held during his visit to Armenia with the Acting Deputy Prime Minister, stating that Iran is always ready to support Armenia.
The interlocutors discussed the existing preconditions for the expansion of trade, including the great potential for cooperation within the EEU.
The parties also discussed issues related to infrastructure development, operation of free economic zones, and possible cooperation in the field of road construction. In this context, the Acting Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the construction of the North-South highway is one of the priorities in the field of infrastructure development.
During the meeting, Grigoryan, speaking about the work being done on the regional transport unblocking, reiterated that the Republic of Armenia had not discussed and will not discuss issues by ‘corridor’ logic.
