The operative situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Syunik and Gegharkunik provinces has not changed in the sense that the situation remains tense, Armenia’s Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the beginning of the Government session. According to him, about 600 Azerbaijanis are still in Armenia.
“The logic of the actions of our Armed Forces is the following: to limit the potential of the actions of the Azerbaijanis by tactical actions. Politically, our task is not to let the situation get out of control. In other words, to do our best to rule out any scenario of a war and military conflict. The second is to get the representatives of the Azerbaijani armed forces to leave the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In this regard, we can state that a huge amount of diplomatic work has been and is being done,” Pashinyan said, adding that at the moment he considers the diplomatic work effective, because the positions of the international partners and Armenia are the same, that is, the representatives of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces must leave the territory of Armenia.
