Georgia called on Georgians and Azerbaijanis living in Kvemo Kartli in the south of the country to curb their passions and avoid turning domestic disputes into ethnic conflicts at all costs.
It is already the third day in the town of Dmanisi, just 10 km away from the northern border of Armenia, fierce clashes continue between Azerbaijanis and Georgians.
The situation calmed down after the intervention of the Georgian police and Special Forces yesterday, but the tension still continues. Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia also urged not to turn the domestic dispute into ethnic clashes.
