During the war unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 27, 2020, after the targeted shelling of peaceful settlements by Azerbaijan, the sappers of the State Service of Emergency Situation of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), together with partner organizations, continue to search for unexploded ammunition that are life-threatening.
From September 27, 2020 to May 16, 2021, during the reconnaissance carried out in the whole territory of Artsakh 2198 explosives, 43 anti-tank mines, 9 anti-personnel mines, 2279 cassette missiles, 2027 anti-aircraft projectiles, 9416 cannon shells, 76 missiles, 2360 small caliber ammunition, 316 aircraft bomb, 151 hand grenades, 58 grenade launchers.
In order to ensure the free and safe movement of the population, about 190 hectares of land were cleared during the inter-regional and community road sections, as well as in the agricultural and tourist areas.
