The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) approved the schedule of electoral events today.
The campaign will start on June 7 and will last for 11 days.
In order to participate in the snap parliamentary elections, parties and blocs can submit their electoral lists to the CEC by May 26, at 18:00 in the evening.
According to the amendment of the Electoral Code, the June 20 elections will be held by the proportional system, without rating lists, hence the order of the elections will also be changed.
According to the Chairman of the Commission, citizens will not make any note on a ballot any more.
“The ballot paper will not have a territorial candidate list on the reverse. The citizen, coming to the polling station, will receive ballots, the sample of which we approved today, which will contain the name of the given party, alliance of parties, other necessary information, but will not have a territorial candidate list. Then, visiting the polling booth, he/she will select from the bunch of ballots the ballot paper for which he/she wants to vote. No note will be made on a ballot. The chosen ballot paper will be put in the envelope,” says Tigran Mukuchyan, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia.
