We have made substantial changes in agriculture, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the National Assembly special session.
“For the first time in the history of Armenia, we told the villagers to build smart barns with these development programs; we will give you 50% of the money you spent. In 25-70% of border villages we implement a development program for a villager, when the villager follows the logic of that development, we return up to 70% of the money spent. To date, we have reimbursed more than 580 million to the villagers. This is absolutely not enough, but in terms of the start it is quite a good starting point,” Pashinyan said.
One of the most sensational news in the near future is that in June-July 2021, the level of Lake Sevan will be the highest in the last 60 years, said the Acting Prime Minister, adding that it is the result of a completely new quality of water resources management.
“In recent years, for example, in 2020, 22.8 million cubic meters less water was released into the system, but 4800 hectares more land were irrigated. None of us have become millionaires to release water from Sevan, because if you talk to the representatives of the energy system, you will see that they will say that there is a rumor in the air that 1 cm of water of Sevan is 1 million drams, because when the system is released, it becomes electricity, that's how the rest of the operations takes place,” said the Acting Prime Minister.
