Yesterday, at the station of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh, more than 450 peacekeepers took part in a solemn meeting dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
The solemn event began with the carrying of the Victory Banner, the original of which was hoisted on the roof of the Reichstag building in the city of Berlin on May 1, 1945 by servicemen of the Red Army, the State Flag of the Russian Federation, as well as by watching the video congratulations of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Hero of Russia, Army General Sergey Shoigu to the personnel peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh.
During the solemn meeting, the Commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh, Hero of Russia, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov made a congratulatory speech to the servicemen.
“Victory Day is a day of general triumph, national pride and eternal memory of the soldiers-liberators,” said Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov. “For us, who have devoted our lives to serving the Motherland, the unfading feat of soldiers and commanders of the Great Patriotic War is an example of courage, heroism and selfless devotion to the Motherland, the most important vector guiding the education of patriots of our Motherland on the traditions of the generation of the Winners,” he added.
Then all those present honored the memory of the soldiers who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence.
During the meeting, 20 servicemen were awarded with departmental medals of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and certificates of honor for exemplary performance of official duties.
After the end of the solemn event, the artists of the song and dance ensemble of the Aerospace Forces performed with a festive concert for the peacekeepers. The program of the festive concert consisted of dances, songs and poems of the war years.
