On May 7, the joint press conference of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Artsakh Lusine Gharakhanyan and the priest of Surb Astvatsamor Hovanu Cathedral (Holy Mother of God Cathedral) in Stepanakert Ter Nerses Asryan was held on the events scheduled for May 8 and 9.
During the press conference, the program of events to be held was presented, according to which a commemoration service (requiem) is planned in the churches of the capital and regions on May 8 at 18:00 in memory of the heroes killed in the Artsakh liberation war. Later cross procession from the Surb Astvatsatsin Church to the memorial in Stepanakert, led by the guardian of the Armenian Army Ashot Yerkat Surb Khach (holy cross) and the patron saint of the Defense Army St. Grigoris Khachvar will take place.
On May 9 at 11:00 a liturgy will be served in Stepanakert Surb Astvatsatsin Church, a Republican wish will be made. The same day, a number of cultural events will be held in the capital city and in all regions of the Republic. Particularly, from 12:00 to 15:00 ‘Naghash’ program-open lesson, recitation, exhibition and a number of other events in Stepan Shahumyan Park of the capital city. Recitations, essays and other programs on military-patriotic themes will be organized for young people in regions.
