During a press conference with Armenian Acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian in Yerevan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov talked about the Armenian-Russian military and educational cooperation, as well as the supply of Sputnik V vaccine to Armenia.
“We highlighted the importance of cooperation in the military and military-technical sphere. Security in the Transcaucasia is carried out by the 102-nd Russian military base, the Armenian-Russian joint military units, and the border department of the Russian Federal Security Service in Armenia.
Today we signed an intergovernmental memorandum on biosafety, discussed joint efforts in the fight against coronavirus. Russia has supplied tens of thousands of doses of Sputnik V vaccine to Armenia. Issues of providing another one million doses to Yerevan as well as organizing the production of vaccines in Armenia are being discussed,” Lavrov said.
Lavrov also talked about the successful development of Armenian-Russian relations in the field of education. The Russian Foreign Minister noted that 5,000 Armenian citizens are studying in Russia.
