During a joint press conference with Ara Aivazian, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov referred to Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
“We discussed in detail the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, noted the progress achieved and the stability of the situation. We do not underestimate the efforts of all international organizations to repatriate, demine and preserve cultural and religious heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh. The trilateral working group headed by the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan on unblocking economic ties and transport communication in the region is making a significant contribution to resolving the situation.
The success of this work will be crucial for the creation of conditions for the settlement of the general situation, for the settlement of post-conflict cooperation. The further activities of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs are needed, first of all, to promote an atmosphere of mutual trust. In general, the results of the talks show the seriousness of Russia and Armenia in strengthening our allied, strategic partnership. We believe that our relations are a key factor for peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” Lavrov said.
