We can state that the third wave of coronavirus in Armenia shows certain tendencies of stabilization, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the Government session, adding that time and dynamics leads to the belief that they have managed and manage the pandemic quite well.
“I remember that in May, June, July 2020, we were shown examples of a number of countries, creating storms around our situation. I advise all these people, our compatriots, to see what has happened in the countries shown to us after 2020, to look at the dynamics, all the numbers, the state of the healthcare system, and to see what is happening in Armenia.
In the most post-crisis period, we had up to 2,000 cases a day, but the situation has never gotten out of control. Today we have 425 new cases, which is not a small figure, but if we look at the dynamics of the previous 10 days, we can state that the situation is stabilizing,” Pashinyan said.
According to the Acting Prime Minister, we are developing incredible speed in turning hospitals into coronavirus treatment centers and returning them to a normal work rhythm.
I want us to concentrate on the vaccination process again, said the Acting Prime Minister, adding that according to yesterday’s data, we have 7,100 vaccinated citizens.
“The vaccination process is first and foremost important for health, but also for economics. Because, especially in terms of tourism, there is a redirection of tourism flows, they are directed to countries where there is a higher level of vaccination of the population. Armenia must quickly join the ranks of ‘green’ countries. If we bring the vaccination to a ‘green’ level, the economic pace will not only be maintained, but will accelerate,” Pashinyan said, noting that most members of the Government have already been vaccinated.
