Our main task after the war is to identify the culprits and bring them to justice, but the priority, of course, is the return of the Armenian captives. Armenia’s Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan said that during the discussion of the report on the 2020 activity of the Prosecutor’s Office at the National Assembly in 2020, answering deputy Tatevik Hayrapetyan’s question.
Davtyan that the Russian counterpart initiated the trilateral meeting with the Russian and Azerbaijani counterparts. Besides, from the first day of the war he was in constant contact with him, all the issues of concern were discussed.
Davtyan said that in both trilateral and bilateral meetings, he had repeatedly raised the fact that Azerbaijan had not fulfilling the point 8 of the November 9 statement, noting that the full non-fulfillment of that point contained serious risks and dangers.
According to the prosecutor, there was no direct contact with the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, however there is information about the torture of servicemen and civilians, and there was a demand for a fair response to that issue.
“We have managed to obtain sufficient factual information about the involvement of Turkish mercenaries from relevant terrorist groups and their transfer to Azerbaijan. We already have judicial act regarding two mercenary terrorists: they were sentenced to life imprisonment. And dozens of terrorists are wanted; this issue is always discussed with our partners,” Arthur Davtyan emphasized.
