Armenia’s Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan believes that during the war unleashed by Azerbaijan, the silence of international organizations also led to that volume of human rights violations.
“Azerbaijan has always pursued a policy of isolating Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). I openly tell the international community that their silence led to this. Because their silence undermined the reputation of human rights, including causing problems in my work. Now what? It turns out that the citizen clearly understood that the war and the armed attack stopped not because the international human rights organization stopped it, but because the problem was solved through concrete political means,” Tatoyan said, noting that the human rights structures had withdrawn, and the whole issue was in the political sphere.
According to the Human Rights Defender, international organizations have damaged the human rights system by their behavior.
“Human rights, democracy and security complement each other. The higher the security, the higher the human rights, and vice a versa,” Tatoyan said.
