The actions in the Ghazanchetsots Church in Shushi once again prove that Azerbaijan, which for decades has spread hatred towards a nation at a high state level, cannot restore the cultural heritage of that nation. Anna Kostanyan, member of Bright Armenia faction, said this during the parliamentary announcements.
According to the MP, the goal is very clear - to erase the Armenian presence in the region. “This policy of attributing Armenian culture to others in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) has been criticized by historians and culturologists. And this is why Azerbaijan still does not allow independent UNESCO experts to visit the region to prevent daily vandalism against Armenian cultural values,” Kostanyan said.
According to her, alas, this issue remains only within the framework of calls and criticism; at the international level no action is taken or is not visible, otherwise, according to her, how can Azerbaijan continue this destructive activity?
“Any action against cultural values in the Azerbaijani-occupied territories of Artsakh is prohibited until UNESCO registers the current situation,” Anna Kostanyan emphasized.
