As
reported earlier, European Parliament deputies appealed to Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel to force Azerbaijan to release Armenian prisoners of war (POWs).
The deputies also stressed that Azerbaijan is trying to present some of our POWs as terrorists, but has not yet presented any evidence to prove this.
Regardless of the justification, Azerbaijan’s behavior violates the status of POWs under international humanitarian law.
“The deputies drew attention to the fact that Baku continues to ignore the ECHR’s requirement to provide the court with information about its prisoners of war,’ Arman Yeghoyan, member of ‘My Step’ faction said.
