The Russian RIA Novosti news agency, which called Arayik Harutyunyan President of Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), ended up being targeted by media and social media in Azerbaijan.
“The President of Karabakh stated that he was interrogated as a witness in the case of overthrowing the constitutional order,” RIA Novosti reported.
Azerbaijani media, social media users who are unable to come to terms with the existence of the Artsakh Republic, call Harutyunyan a ‘terrorist leader’. However, being the mouthpiece of the mediator of the people of Artsakh, the guarantor of security, RIA Novosti is well aware of the essence of things, does not distort the facts, infoteka24 reports.
If in the past the Russian side spared the feelings of its inadequate, extremely aggressive ‘partners’, now it has made it clear that the cheap provocations of the Azerbaijanis in Artsakh and the attacks on Moscow are extremely inappropriate.
The day before, one of Aliyev’s propagandists tried to distort the text of the trilateral statement, stating that Stepanakert will be under the subordination of Azerbaijan and the Russian peacekeepers will be withdrawn from the region. In doing so, they are questioning Russia’s reputation and image as a guarantor of compliance with the terms of the trilateral statement. At the same time, anti-Russian protests are being held in Baku with hostile slogans, and the police are not taking any steps to disperse such actions.
In addition, the Azerbaijani armed forces have repeatedly attacked villages in Artsakh, including Stepanakert, which is also seen as an attempt to disrupt the peacekeeping mission.
