As a result of the war, 120 out of 228 communities in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) fell under the control of Azerbaijan, stated Chief of Staff of the Artsakh President Artak Beglaryan at the conference entitled ‘Partnership for Artsakh’ of the ‘Aurora’ humanitarian initiative, presenting the losses suffered by Artsakh as a result of the war.
According to him, at the end of 44 days, about 110 thousand people were deported from Artsakh, and in the post-war period - 39 thousand people.
“Now 39 thousand people are not only displaced, but also homeless and have many needs - educational, psychic, health, etc. Apart from the displaced, we have the families of the dead and the wounded, the missing, the captives, all of whom have different needs, both social and health,” Beglaryan said.
