Guillermo Altares, a well-known Spanish journalist and former head of the international division of El País, who also collaborates with a number of Spanish and foreign media outlets, including France Press, published an extensive article on the Armenian Genocide. It included an interview with a well-known Turkish historian, genocide scholar, and professor at Clark University in the United States Taner Akçam.
In an article entitled ‘Genocide Denied for Political Reasons, Akçam states that the Armenian Genocide is a fact confirmed by academic circles, and the US administration has no doubt about it either.
“There is no doubt that what happened to the Armenians is genocide. I can say for sure that there is more documentary evidence on the Armenian Genocide than on the Holocaust,” said Taner Akçam.
