At the moment our efforts are aimed at increasing the productivity of agriculture, Acting Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said at a briefing with journalists after the Government session. He noted that great efforts are being made to create non-agricultural jobs in villages, adding that there are large-scale agricultural support programs.
“Yesterday I visited the village of Dasht in Armavir Province, where an investor is creating a large water tourist park with 160 jobs not in agriculture. We try to make sure that people are not forced to survive on small plots of land, but have alternatives,” Kerobyan said.
Referring to the vaccination process, the Acting Minister stated that vaccination is important to have open borders and investments.
Kerobyan assured that the issue of opening the border with Turkey is not on the agenda; moreover, they are going to extend the ban on the import of Turkish goods.
“When adecision is made at the political level to restore relations, which is beyond my authority, then we will try to ensure that our economy is well protected from the flood of Turkish goods as much as possible,” Kerobyan said.
