The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Spain Vladimir Karmirshalyan met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Basque Country Bakartxo Tejeria.
The ambassador thanked the Parliament of the Basque Country for supporting the right of the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to self-determination and for adopting institutional statements about it. The parties agreed that the existing friendly ties between the Basque country and the Armenian people create a solid basis for the development of a political dialogue.
Bakartxo Tejeria expressed regret that it was not possible to visit Armenia to participate in the events dedicated to the 106-th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
During the meeting, Ambassador Karmirshalyan and Bakartxo Tejeria also discussed the prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Ambassador Vladimir Karmirshalyan made a note in the guest book of the Parliament.
