On April 27, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ara Aivazian received Fanny Carolina Salinas Fernandez, Speaker of the Central American Parliament, and the delegation headed by her. RA NA Deputy Sos Avetisyan also took part in the meeting.
Aivazian praised Carolina Fernandez’s visit to Armenia to participate in the events dedicated to the 106-th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the support provided to the Armenian people, which reflects the clear position of the Central American Parliament on fundamental human rights and universal values.
Both sides agreed on the creation of cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the Central American Parliament, which will contribute to the promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Armenia and the region.
The interlocutors also talked about a wide range of regional stability and security issues. They highlighted the international community’s unequivocal position on human rights violations as an effective tool for preventing future crimes against humanity.
Aivazian praised the Central American Parliament’s principled position on the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
