“President of Lebanon Michel Auon tasked me to personally represent him in the Armenian Genocide commemoration events to keep the flame of truth bright in everyone’s consciousness, with which we also address words of gratitude and appreciation to the organizers of this commemoration event,” Lebanon’s Minister of Youth and Sport Vartine Ohanian has addressed a message in Yerevan, Armenia, on the occasion of the 106-th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
“The victims of the Armenian Genocide remain in our hearts, they live today, and they will live in our future. They were martyred, but they continue to speak with their souls. There is one thing in common between the Armenian and Lebanese peoples. You were killed by sword, we were killed by famine and blockade, and the criminal is one. We are rejecting falsehood, destruction and concealment of the truth for humanity. Today we call on to be united,” Ohanian said.
“From here, from this historic place and this historic moment, let us make sure that the world is free from the division of the majority, the minority. We all are inter-connected and are brothers because we all are facing common challenges, and each of us suffers from its consequences in its own way,” the Lebanese Minister stated.
Vartine Ohanian said that the President of Lebanon reiterates his solidarity and appreciation, and concluded in Armenian – “I will remember and demand.”
