Currently in Tsitsernakaberd, Armenia for the commemorations of the Armenian Genocide, Valérie Boyer, member of the French Parliament, wrote on her Facebook page.
“Before I left I asked Senate Speaker Gérard Larcher to start a working group on penalizing the negationism of Armenian genocide.
More than a century ago Clemenceau wrote: “We start talking about new unrest in Armenia's vilayets. We know what that word means. This is the official understatement to refer to the methodical massacre of Armenians.”
“Today we must fully rethink negationism, which is no more or less than an accessory to the crime of genocide. How indeed to fight against genocide without also fighting against negationism?” Boyer stated.
