Armen Simonyan, RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, participated in the 5-th meeting of experts at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the draft agreement on the establishment of an international transport-transit corridor from the Persian Gulf to Black Sea.
The delegations of Armenia and Iran participated in the meeting on the spot and the delegations of Georgia, Bulgaria and Greece – online (due to coronavirus).
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Simonyan referred to the prospects and benefits of carrying out international transit cargo transportation through the shortest transit route from South Asia and the Persian Gulf ports to the Black Sea and then to Europe (via Iran, Armenia and Georgia) and the opposite direction in case of launching the Persian Gulf-Black Sea International Transport Corridor.
During the meeting the participating delegations discussed their positions on a number of provisions of the draft agreement and the variants for the final agreement of those provisions. At the end of the meeting, a protocol was signed, which envisages holding the next meeting of experts in the Republic of Bulgaria to complete the approval of the draft agreement.
