Knox Thames, former State Department Special Advisor for Religious Minorities, called on US President Joe Biden to call the systematic killings of 1915-23 genocide,

The newspaper states that according to Thames, April 24 will be the right moment for President Joe Biden to set the historical record straight.
Based in present-day Turkey, the Ottoman Empire undertook a mass campaign of murder against Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks, starting on April 24, 1915, running for eight years. Historians estimate 1.5 million Armenians died. It was no secret either. The New York Times wrote 145 articles in 1915 alone about the massacres.
Knox Thames says that the Armenian Genocide happened and as a presidential candidate, Biden pledged to recognize it, and hoped that President Joe Biden would do the same on April 24.
