Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Moscow and his readiness for bilateral co-operation.
Putin highlighted the process of restoring trade and economic ties between the two countries and transport communication in the region, which, according to him, will contribute to the development of Armenia. The Russian President assured that the countries would be able to restore the reduced trade turnover due to the coronavirus epidemic. He reminded that Russia is Yerevan’s main partner in Armenia’s foreign trade turnover, and Russian capital investments have the largest share - 40%.
“Our relations are deep. They are of strategic nature. I will not list all the platforms where we work together.
The intergovernmental commission, that we have created, is actively working. Recently, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister paid a working visit to Armenia, during which the post-war situation was also discussed,” the Russian President said.
The head of the Kremlin promised to solve the issue of sending Russian ‘Sputnik V’ vaccine to Armenia. These and other issues will be discussed in the Putin-Pashinyan negotiations.
