Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan answered to the question of RIA Novosti whether there is a certainty in the discussions on unblocking the regional transport communication between Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, whether draft roadmaps developed, and how beneficial the unblocking of roads will be for the countries of the region.
“Issues related to the implementation of point 9 of the November 9, 2020 statement, as well as the implementation of the 2-nd, 3-rd and 4-th points of the January 11, 2021 statement, have been discussed so far. Expert sub-groups have been set up on rail, road and combined transport, as well as on providing transport, including security, border, customs, sanitary and other control.
It is currently stated that there is a need for additional expert work, and the work should be continued.
The working group was set up to consider the issues of international transportation, which require crossing the territories of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The issues of bilateral unblocking of transport communications are discussed, which will contribute to the strengthening of the transit potential of Armenia and the development of trade relations in the region.
The day of the next meeting of the trilateral working group will be agreed by the co-chairs, taking into consideration the discussions within the sub-groups,” the RA Prime Minister emphasized.
