In February, the average salary in Armenia increased by about AMD 11,000 ($21), and as compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of jobs decreased by 8,000, said Edward Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee at the session of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
“The residual of the average salary in February was AMD 11,000 ($21), from AMD 193,000 ($361) to AMD 204,000 ($382). We first explored the residual between jobs. The number is 8,000 less than last year in the same month. Those 8,000 jobs are in the areas vulnerable to the epidemic - catering, accommodation, hotels,” he said.
According to the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, the SRC administration had an impact on the hike in salaries: the economic entities presented the amount of salaries as accurately as possible in the tax calculations. “The money given to businesses and employees by the Government through numerous measures also had an impact,” Hovhannisyan said.
