The funeral of the hero of Artsakh, Major-General Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos), took place today, April 3, 2021. Before that, the last farewell ceremony was held in St. John's Church.
The legendary Commandos passed away on March 31, at the age of 81.
Commandos made a priceless contribution to the Artsakh liberation struggle. In 1991, he was appointed head of the Department of Military Training of the Armenian Defense Committee. On October 30, 1991, the newly created Artsakh self-defense forces under his command liberated the village of Togh in Hadrut region.
Ter-Tadevosyan was one of the main figures in the operation Shushi liberation in May 1992. ‘Wedding in the Mountains’ operation became one of the best examples in the war history.
Commandos’ body was buried in the Davtashen (district in Yerevan) family cemetery, according to his will.
