Georgian activists and opposition politicians have protested against protest against the arrival of Russian journalist Vladimir Pozner in Tbilisi. Vladimir Pozner, known in Georgia for his controversial remarks about the country’s territorial integrity, and dozens of his guests allegedly arrived in Tbilisi to celebrate his birthday on April 1.
The rally was held late at night in front of the hotel where Vladimir Pozner and his friends allegedly had dinner.
Pozner was fined for violation of isolation and quarantine rules. The Vinotel hotel which hosted the Russian journalist and his guests late yesterday was also fined 10,000 GEL for violating curfew.
Later Pozner and his guests cordoned by the police moved to Rooms Hotel Tbilisi where demonstrators threw eggs at the building. Pozner, a prominent Russian-US journalist, once said he thinks Abkhazia would never return to Georgia.
