US-based Turkish basketball player Enes Kanter, known for criticizing President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is back in the spotlight of the Turkish press, Ermenihaber reports.
“What would I say if I met him? I would call him dictator. He is an egocentric person, who uses the power to violate human rights. He wants to be the most important person in Turkey. This or that journalist, who writes or speaks something against him, ends up in a court the next day. If I stood next to Erdogan, I would probably not talk to him; I would simply spit in his face”, the basketball player said.
Earlier Kanter said he was planning to apply for US citizenship.
