The intention to carry out terrorist attacks and the existence of terrorist infrastructure in the capital have been uncovered, and there is an ongoing threat for a terrorist attack on Israeli and Jewish targets in Azerbaijan. Israel warns its citizens about serious dangers when traveling to Azerbaijan. The warning was published on Israel’s National Security Council’s
website.
The Jewish state recommends its citizens avoiding non-essential travel to this country, or at least taking special precautions and exercising extra alertness and caution while in the country:
- To be highly aware and alert at tourist sites and entertainment venues.
- To avoid places that are known to be popular among Israelis.
- To reject any unexpected and tempting offers in the business arena or for entertainment.
- To reject unexpected invitations for meetings, especially in remote places and at night.
- To avoid admitting suspicious or unexpected visitors to your hotel room or home.
If you are staying in this country for an extended period, change your routine by alternating your regular travel routes, restaurants, entertainment venues and hotels.
The Counterterrorism Bureau clarifies that this travel alert is solely a recommendation and that any decision to visit/stay any place abroad is subject to the individual's discretion and is their sole responsibility.
