Artur Tovmasyan, Speaker of Parliament of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), who is in Armenia on a working visit, met on March 26 with RA Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian in Yerevan.
The post-war economic, humanitarian and other problems in Artsakh, as well the work carried out to solve them, were discussed during the meeting. The officials also discussed the ongoing steps for returning the Armenian prisoners of war (POWs) and captives from Azerbaijan.
Both condemned the destruction of Armenian religious and historical-cultural sites by Azerbaijan. In this regard, they highlighted the calls of the Foreign Ministry addressed to international organizations.
Coming to the ongoing domestic political developments in Armenia, Artsakh’s Parliament Speaker Tovmasyan said:
“Snap elections, perhaps, are the best option for any state which is facing a crisis situation. The situation in Armenia itself requires snap parliamentary elections. If we want to have secure Artsakh, we must have sustainable Armenia and strong Diaspora.”
