Armenia voted against the UN Human Rights Resolution on Syria. The document was rejected by Russia, Bolivia, Venezuela, China and Cuba, calling it ‘extremely biased’, Tass reports.
The resolution targets the Syrian authorities, who are accused of “killing tens of thousands of people detained by the ruling regime”.
The initiative of the resolution adopted at the 46 session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva came from UK, EU, Turkey, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait.
Twenty-seven of 47 member states of the Council supported the document. Fourteen states, including Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan abstained.
