On 25 March, President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan met in Yerevan with RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Aivazian.
The meeting focused on the steps taken to settle the humanitarian, socio-economic problems risen in Artsakh due to the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression. In this context, both sides stressed on the unhindered involvement of specialized international organizations on the ground.
In the context of the urgent humanitarian issues, President Harutyunyan and Foreign Minister Ayvazyan exchanged views on the steps taken to repatriate Armenian POWs and civilian hostages, calling unacceptable Azerbaijan’s unnecessary politicization of the issue.
It was stressed that the final political solution to the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict must be under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairing. In this regard, the cornerstone role of self-determination and recognition of security rights of the people of Artsakh in the context of a just settlement of the conflict was stressed.
