Armenian Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan does not share the concerns that the upcoming elections will be tense. In response to the question of opposition Bright Armenia parliamentarian Srbuhi Grigoryan, Badasyan stated that after 2018 the wheel of falsifying elections can no longer be turned back, it is impossible to distort citizens’ will somehow.
“Perhaps we will further strengthen more effective mechanisms for detecting and investigating electoral crimes by making further amendments to the Criminal Code or amendments to the Code on Administrative Offenses. I think the rest of the Electoral Code gives all the opportunities to the civil society, the opposition factions, and the extra-parliamentary forces to exercise their control”, the minister said.
