In a report published yesterday, the international human rights organization mentioned the atrocities against the Armenian POWs, demanding that the Baku authorities investigate the incidents.
“We are aware of reports of the mistreatment of detainees, including the March 19 report from Human Rights Watch, and are troubled by the allegations. We continue to call on the parties to respect their obligations under international law and ensure the humane treatment of all detainees. We urge the parties to engage fully with the relevant humanitarian actors to complete the exchange process for all prisoners, detainees, and remains, fully and expeditiously,” the US State Department’s response reads.
