A group of Armenian pilgrims, accompanied by military personnel of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, visited Dadivank monastery complex.
As a result of the agreements, the servicemen of the Republic of Azerbaijan freely allow pilgrims to the territory of the complex, accompanied by Russian peacekeepers. To ensure security, one of the observation posts of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is located near the architectural complex.
Dadivank is one of the ancient Christian monasteries and is located on the territory of the Karvachar region (Kalbajar), which, in accordance with a trilateral statement, came under the control of Azerbaijan in November 2020.
Besides, Russian peacekeepers ensured the safety of Armenian pilgrims visiting Amaras monastery, located close to the demarcation line in Arstakh.
Over 100 pilgrims visited Dadivank and Amaras monasteries, accompanied by Russian peacekeepers, within the past two days.
In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and end of all military actions were announced in Artsakh.
A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is deployed to control the ceasefire and the end of military actions in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The core of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is made up of units of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade (peacekeeping) of the Central Military District.
