Lately Israeli television and the press cover the news on the use of Israeli weapons in the recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war. A few days ago, Channel 12 aired a one-hour program with comments from all sides. The Jerusalem Post also covered the issue. Some types of Israeli UAVs (drones) used for the first time in Artsakh. The article notes that the war in the Caucasus was a “debut” for UAVs.
Harop UAV is a type of weapon, not only unmanned, but also with a missile-like warhead, which played a key role in the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh.
Itai Anghel, an Israeli war correspondent, who was in Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh those days, said: “Israel has sold drones to Baku over the years. They can be used against tanks, vehicles and personnel. The extensive use of UAVs in the destruction of modern armed forces was demonstrated during the hostilities carried out by Azerbaijan. Lighter weight and smaller versions of these drones are now revolutionizing warfare”.
Jerusalem post - Armenians were outraged towards the end of the war, angry about being targeted by Israeli-supplied drones and the documentary queried whether Israel supplied weapons to Azerbaijan and involved itself unknowingly in a conflict in which it has no interests.
The report also shows the Azerbaijani parade with many drones and with the praise of the Azerbaijanis about them. The article states that some of these devices are not even visible in the sky. This is a new-generation war.
The question on whether the desire to supply arms to Azerbaijan stemmed from Israeli security concerns about Iran has remained unanswered.
