US Congressman Jim Costa from Fresno city raised the issue of the release of Armenian prisoners of war. Costa contributed to the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's report on the foreign policy priorities of President Joe Biden's administration.
Costa particularly noted that one of the provisions of the November 9 statement signed between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan provides for the release of the PoWs.
The US Congressman called on US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to put pressure on Azerbaijan to release Armenian PoWs illegally detained four months after the military aggression. In response to the Congressman's call, Anthony Blinken emphasized that he had recently talked to the Prime Minister of Armenia, and it is one of the issues that’s in their focus.
