Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, revealed during a rally in Republic Square that first of all the issues of missing and captives during the war in Karabakh must be resolved, but public discussions, according to the Prime Minister, are not welcome.
“Last week's events caused some problems in that process, but I don't want to go into details. I just want the relatives of our captured and missing brothers and sisters to be sure that we don’t forget about them and about our obligations to them for a second. I want to say that all your pain in our hearts, and believe me, our hearts ache with the same pain as yours,” the Prime Minister said.
“For the sake of our martyrs, violence, thus resolving any political issue, must be ruled out in the Republic of Armenia. We did not have an enemy and we will not have one inside Armenia”, Pashinyan said, adding that it does not mean that there will be no rule of law in Armenia.
“But rule of law will not be established in Armenia as long as we, together with popular will, have not ruled out the politicization of the judiciary and the Armed Forces by law. In December, we saw such a disgusting thing, when some were trying to politicize the judiciary. Not only they did not arrest, but also they were about to give an indulgence to the ones, who said they would kill the Prime Minister and the Government.
People can be killed, the truth - no. The truth is that those people, who want to trample the people with tanks today, who want to take the army against the people, are defeated and those people will never be in power in Armenia again. Because the people will be in power in Armenia, only and only, exclusively the people”, Pashinyan said, suggesting to end today's rally with a march.
“Most importantly, believe in the strength of the people. No one can stand against the people’s power, be it by tank, by plane, by nuclear weapons. People are an invincible force, people are strong, people are proud and people will win”, Pashinyan concluded.
