Unfortunately, Azerbaijan is trying to make the issue of captives a subject of bargaining. The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in his interview with 1in.am.
"It is not appropriate due to a simple fact that the November 9 statement clearly states an obligation regarding captives, hostages and other detainees. I repeat that various comments are made about our soldiers captured in Khtsaberd - whether they are prisoners of war or not. This comment is inappropriate, as the November 9 statement is not only about prisoners of war, but also about captives, hostages and other detainees.
I want to emphasize that this is a trilateral statement and all the signatories share that statement and the obligations formulated by it. We are working intensively to give an intensive solution to this issue as soon as possible", said the Prime Minister.
According to him, everything must be done so that the processes do not enter a deadlock. They work on the agenda as long as there is a real opportunity to solve the problem.
"There is a real opportunity for us to have concrete results. When we see that there is no such opportunity, we will not waste time in vain", Pashinyan said, adding:
"So far, 69 prisoners have returned to the homeland, but we must continue to work until all the prisoners are returned".
