On February 19, the RA Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian had a phone conversation with Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the Organization of American States.
Minister Aivazian and Secretary General Almagro expressed satisfaction with the perspective cooperation established between Armenia and the Organization of American States. The bilateral readiness to continue efforts to maintain and further strengthen the existing dynamics of cooperation, especially in the field of human rights protection, was underlined.
The issues of regional stability and peace were also touched upon during the conversation. Minister Aivazian presented to Secretary General Almagro the humanitarian situation caused by the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan in Artsakh.
The interlocutors stressed the urgency of repatriation of prisoners of war and hostages.
The RA Foreign Minister noted that Armenia really appreciates the consistent and balanced position of the organization during the whole war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh.
