The President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan received a group of residents of the villages of Avetaranots and Aknaghbyur in the Askeran region, which were occupied during the aggression of Azerbaijan against Artsakh.
Problems of the displaced families, the issue of choosing their place of joint residence were discussed. President Arayik Harutyunyan noted that the issue of returning Avetaranots and Aknaghbyur, as well as other occupied settlements, remains on the political agenda of the Artsakh authorities, but resolving the housing and other issues of the displaced residents is also a priority at the moment.
The President stressed the preference - that the residents of these villages be resettled together. During the discussions with the residents of the two communities, a number of places in the Askeran region were outlined, the final choice of which should be made by the residents together with the representatives of the state authorized bodies. Then, in a short period of time, the projects of new settlements will be made and the construction works will start.
