On 13 February the President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan participated in Martuni in the presentation of the report of the head of the regional administration Ararat Melkumyan on the work done in 2020 in the city of Martuni.
As reported by the Office of the Artsakh President, assessing the presented report as satisfactory, the President thanked the head of the administration, emphasizing his key role in the war unleashed against Artsakh last fall and noting that he will be replaced by Martuni mayor Edik Avanesyan.
Referring to the post-war situation, the President noted that the priority remains security, which will be provided by its own forces, as well as by the means and guarantees of Russian peacekeepers.
"Part of the security component of Artsakh is the status of Artsakh. Restoration of territorial integrity and international recognition of independence remain on our foreign policy agenda. This meeting with the people of Martuni takes place on February 13, a historic day for Artsakh, and the ideas of the Artsakh movement have not changed", said Arayik Harutyunyan.
He also met separately with a group of Martuni residents. The conversation focused on the post-war situation and ways to overcome it.
