The Sweden-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group has issued a statement calling on Azerbaijan to immediately return Armenian prisoners of war. The statement signed by Arin Karapet, Bjorn Soder and Fredrik Malman, in particular, reads:
"We call on Azerbaijan to speed up the exchange of bodies, prisoners of war and hostages, immediately suspend the criminal cases against the captives and return them to Armenia.
The immediate and unconditional return of the captives will be one of the first steps in restoring the atmosphere of trust between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
We also call on the EU bodies to consistently raise this humanitarian issue in the context of current and future relations with Azerbaijan".
