Citizens of foreign countries, willing to visit the Republic of Artsakh, must apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh in advance for permission to enter.
This is the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh. The procedure for entering Artsakh has not changed significantly, said head of the Consular Section of the NKR Permanent Representation in Armenia.
Changes have been made for security considerations due to the post-war situation. The acting head of Consular Section of the NKR Permanent Representation denies recent news, spread on social networks, that entering Artsakh is not safe.
Lusine Stepanyan, Acting Head of the Consular Section of the NKR Permanent Representation in Armenia: “Recent talks that entering Artsakh is not safe or that the entry to Artsakh is not determined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is misinformation. I would ask you to follow the official information”.
Some changes have been made in the procedure of foreign citizens entering the territory of Artsakh. As before, the visa regime is now in force for foreign citizens. Now visas are issued not immediately, but in three-four days, the acting Head of the Consular Section of the NKR Permanent Representation said.
There is no visa regime for Russian citizens, however, the previous procedure, the document regime, operates. Only a registration form is provided to enter Artsakh.
Lusine Stepanyan: “In this case the only change is that Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs simply informs peacekeepers about the citizens, willing to enter Artsakh, to ensure their security”.
Entry is generally free for Armenian citizens.
